HISTORICAL ORIGIN
Inspired by the art of ancient Egypt, the Hathor Table Lamp evokes a Middle Kingdom (ca. 2061–2010 BCE) relief that once adorned the mortuary temple and tomb of King Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II at Deir el-Bahri in Western Thebes. Our contemporary reinterpretation of the original relief, now in the collection of The Met, celebrates the timeless elegance of Egyptian craftsmanship.
